Arrive on Saturday 28 February for a mid afternoon social ride to a local wine farm where you can meet the team and your fellow riders, then back to the luxury 4 star accommodation overlooking a lake at the foothills of the majestic Franschhoek Pass. On Sunday there will be a morning social ride for those who want to stretch their legs, and a fun prologue in the early evening. Then 3 days riding taking in some truly breathtaking routes and sampling some local coffee stops and farm stalls. Each day we should be back by early afternoon to avoid the heat and allow you to enjoy the off bike pleasures of Franschhoek. On Thursday we cycle from our base in Franschhoek to Cape Town where we will finish near the Waterfront for some celebratory bubbles.
For those who wish to stay on for the Cape Town Cycle Tour on Sunday 8 March, Leadout Events can ensure you get guaranteed entry with group seeding.
We will ride in a minimum of two groups, each supported by our wonderful crew including mechanics, motorbike outrider support and broom wagon. The groups will be looked after by ride captains and can split depending on ability, so everyone is catered for and no one is ever left behind. We will have an event photographer with us for the whole event.
Franschhoek is the perfect base with a great range of top restaurants and watering holes, galleries, wine tasting, boutiques and more, there is plenty to discover when not riding your bike. This trip would also suit anyone who would like to bring along their non riding partner.
We will be staying at the luxurious L'Ermitage Chateau and Villas, just off the main strip. Here our group will have it's own outdoor swimming pool area and bar, plus stunning views of Franschhoek Pass.

We stop for lunch at a local township cycling academy. Then a “short cut” between Fish Hoek and Noordhoek gets us back on the CTCT route over Chapmans Peak, through Hout Bay and over the infamous Suiker Bossie hugging the Atlantic Coast Line all the way into Cape Town. We then arrive into the hustle and bustle of central Cape Town and finish near the Waterfront where a glass of fizz and some nibbles await you.
FAQ
WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE EVENT?
There will be a min of two ability groups. All participants ride in their seeded group. Riders are not permitted to ride on their own.
Each group rides as a peloton with motorbike outriders, mechanic’s van and rolling road closures with the ride captains in radio contact with the support vehicles to help ensure the safety of each group at all times.
You will be given a day bag which will be accessible at all stops during the ride. Here you can carry any extra clothing and food you may need.
On our return there is lunch waiting for all riders (and non riding partners) at L'Ermitage. Then the rest of the afternoon is for you to relax by our own pool and bar area.
